The river Mhadei is the lifeline of Goa. It's rich biodiversity and natural flow is important to maintain and sustain the ecological balance. The region where Mhadei enters Goa is one of the most pristine forests in the western Ghats. The song brings about the ill effects on Goa due to diversion of the River Mhadei into Malaprabha river basin in Karnataka. The song ‘Amchi Mhadei’ is a wake- up call for every Goan to set aside political differences and affiliations and unitedly march forward to bring our ‘Mhadei’ back to its natural course in Goa.
