How a Dishwasher Works

A dishwasher has no brushes, and a certified standard model uses about twelve liters of water for a whole cycle. This video takes a working 3D dishwasher apart and follows the water from the pipe to the drain: the inlet valve, the heater, the detergent door, the wash pump, the spray arms that spin with no motor, the filter that lets the same few liters go round and round, the soil sensor, the drain pump and its high loop, rinse aid, and how the dishes dry.
