Ella Langley Broke Mariah Carey's Record. So Why the Backlash?

Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" has now spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, more than any song in the chart's history, including Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You." So why does it feel like so many people are rooting against her? From singing for the cows on her family's land in Hope Hull, Alabama, to years of vans, gas stations and bar stages, a Riley Green duet, a Miranda Lambert kangaroo story and a record nobody saw coming, this is the whole story, plus the bots and "industry plant" talk, the viral Knoxville clip, and the Columbus speech where she said she's proud of "that girl that everybody seems to be picking on a little bit."
