On October 7, 2026, the CHESHIRE Network hosted the webinar, “De-Implementation: What It Is and How It Improves HIV Care,” the inaugural session in CHESHIRE’s series, “Exploring De-Implementation in HIV Care.” De-implementation in HIV is the deliberate process of stopping, reducing, or replacing older HIV prevention and treatment practices that are now outdated, inefficient, or low-value. The webinar featured a panel discussion that explored what de-implementation is, why it matters, and how it serves as a critical component of implementation science and HIV care improvement. It also highlighted the role of implementation science in ensuring that HIV care practices remain effective, evidence-based, and responsive to evolving needs. The webinar was hosted by the Southeast HIV Implementation Science (SEIS) Hub and coordinated by the HIV Implementation Science Coordination Initiative (ISCI).
