WATCH: India-Japan Air Chiefs Take Tejas Sortie In Jodhpur | Exercise Veer Guardian 2026

Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh and Japan Air Self-Defense Force Chief of Staff General Takehiro Morita took a sortie in India’s indigenous Light Combat Aircraft, Tejas, at Air Force Station Jodhpur. The high-profile flight took place during the India-Japan bilateral air exercise, Veer Guardian 2026, which is being conducted in and around Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The exercise brings together Indian Air Force aircraft including the indigenous LCA Tejas, Rafale and Su-30MKI, along with Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-2A fighter aircraft. Veer Guardian 2026 is the second edition of the India-Japan air exercise; the first was held in Japan in 2023. The 2026 edition is significant as it marks the first time Japanese fighter aircraft have deployed to an Indian air base.
