Records of the Earthquake & Nuclear Disaster（福島県: 双葉町）| Futaba, Fukushima

On my journey north toward Hokkaido, I stopped by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum in Futaba Town, Fukushima Prefecture. Unlike my usual night walk videos, this is a daytime tourism vlog. As I travel, I encounter many meaningful places that feel truly important to document on camera. Filming this experience felt so impactful that I decided to edit and share it with you. While this daytime format is still a work in progress, I hope you follow along with an open mind! This was actually my second visit to the museum. It houses extensive exhibits detailing the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear accident that struck in 2011. The raw history preserved here offers a powerful opportunity to reflect on the disaster and the ongoing journey of recovery. If you are interested, I highly recommend visiting in person. It happened to be raining on the day of my visit. Rain felt unusually frequent this summer; on a sunny day, the lush green lawn extending in front of the museum is remarkably pleasant, so that was a bit unfortunate, but the quiet rain brought its own reflective atmosphere.
