LGM Apartment: Architecture Designed to Endure Designed by architect Luciano Dalla Marta, LGM Apartment is a São Paulo residence conceived around permanence, precision and the idea that architecture and design should transcend time. In this film, an in depth interview with Dalla Marta guides us through the thinking behind the project, revealing how architecture, interiors, bespoke millwork, lighting and collectible furniture were developed together from the very beginning. Set high above the city, the apartment is defined by expansive glazing and sweeping views over São Paulo and the surrounding greenery. Its pronounced structural columns are embraced rather than concealed, clad in neutral stone and transformed into architectural elements that frame the landscape. Natural wood blinds act almost as a brise soleil, filtering daylight throughout the day while preserving the connection with the view. At the heart of the social spaces, a sculptural walnut panel becomes one of the project's defining elements. Conceived almost as an artwork within the apartment, its expressive cathedral grain creates a sense of movement, while integrated sliding doors allow the spaces to be reconfigured. Walnut, marble, glass and mineral finishes establish a carefully balanced material palette, complemented by collectible furniture selected as an extension of the architecture. The private areas become warmer and more intimate. The primary suite is conceived almost as an apartment within the apartment, with its own living area, kitchenette and home office. Light is equally fundamental to the experience. Developed with Orlando, from OM Studio, the lighting is discreetly integrated into the architecture, with a system that responds to changing natural light and adjusts its color temperature throughout the day. Through a poetic and cinematic journey across LGM Apartment, and an in depth conversation with Luciano Dalla Marta, the film goes beyond the finished spaces to reveal the architectural thinking behind them. Dalla Marta discusses the relationship between structure and landscape, the conception of the sculptural walnut panel, the careful control of natural light, the selection of materials and furniture, and the technical precision required to bring every element together. The result is an intimate look at both the apartment and the architect's approach to creating spaces intended not simply for the present, but to endure over time.
