Manjong: The Military Wing of Nso Culture

Manjong holds a special place in Nso culture as the traditional military wing of the Nso people. During the annual Ngonnso Cultural Week, members of Manjong from different communities come together to celebrate their heritage, unity and shared identity. Their gathering is marked by traditional displays, music, dance and a strong sense of discipline and solidarity. Beyond the celebrations, Manjong serves as a reminder of the important role tradition, courage and community service have played in preserving Nso culture across generations. The annual gathering is therefore not only a cultural celebration but also an opportunity for Manjong members to reconnect, strengthen their bonds and proudly showcase an important part of Nso heritage.
