京都の秘境と呼ばれる「冠島」でダイビング！冠島は海の京都、舞鶴の若狭湾の沖合に浮かぶ無人島です。その時の旅先での海や風景動画の紹介です。2026年7月訪問。

「冠島」は海の京都と呼ばれる舞鶴市に属し、同市の北端から約10kmにある若狭湾内に存在する無人島です。舞鶴西港より船で約１時間程の沖合いに位置します。また舞鶴市は豊かな自然や美しい海、古い港町の景色が広がっています。 冠島は周囲約４kmあり、太古の昔、大地震によって没した山「おおしあまのさと」の二つの頂きと伝えられ、神の島として信仰の対象となっています。今では京都府の鳥で天然記念物に指定されている「オオミズナギドリ」の繁殖地として、野鳥保護区に指定されています。基本的に上陸は禁じられています。 ダイビングスタイルは一度出航すると帰港するまでは、終日船の上で過ごすことになります。東西に約100kmある若狭湾の中で沖合いに位置する無人島は冠島だけとなる為、魚影の濃いのも特徴です。冠島周辺海域の潮流は複雑である為、流れに対する対応のできるダイバーであれば楽しめます。 In July 2026, while staying in Maizuru City, Kyoto, I visited Kanmuri Island, which lies off the coast of Wakasa Bay. Here, I’d like to share some diving videos from that trip, as well as landscape videos I shot during my travels. Kanmuri Island is part of Maizuru City—known as “Kyoto of the Sea”—and is an uninhabited island located in Wakasa Bay, about 10 km from the city’s northern tip. It lies offshore, about an hour by boat from Maizuru West Port. Maizuru City is also home to abundant nature, beautiful seas, and the scenery of a charming, old-fashioned port town. Kanmuri Island has a circumference of about 4 km. Legend has it that it consists of the two peaks of “Oshiama no Sato,” a mountain that sank into the sea following a massive earthquake in ancient times, and it is revered as a sacred island. Today, it is designated as a wild bird sanctuary and serves as a breeding ground for the “Great Shearwater,” which is the official bird of Kyoto Prefecture and a designated Natural Monument. Landing on the island is generally prohibited. As for the diving style, once the boat sets sail, you’ll spend the entire day on board until returning to port. Since Kanmuri Island is the only uninhabited island located offshore within Wakasa Bay—which stretches approximately 100 km from east to west—it is characterized by an abundance of fish schools. The currents in the waters around Kanmuri Island are complex, so divers who can handle these currents will find the experience enjoyable. En julio de 2026, durante mi estancia en la ciudad de Maizuru, en Kioto, visité la isla de Kanmuri, situada frente a la costa de la bahía de Wakasa. Aquí me gustaría compartir algunos videos de buceo de ese viaje, así como videos de paisajes que grabé durante mi recorrido. La isla de Kanmuri forma parte de la ciudad de Maizuru —conocida como la «Kioto del mar»— y es una isla deshabitada ubicada en la bahía de Wakasa, a unos 10 km del extremo norte de la ciudad. Se encuentra en alta mar, a aproximadamente una hora en barco desde el puerto oeste de Maizuru. La ciudad de Maizuru también cuenta con una naturaleza abundante, mares hermosos y el paisaje de una encantadora y tradicional ciudad portuaria. La isla de Kanmuri tiene una circunferencia de unos 4 km. Cuenta la leyenda que está formada por los dos picos de «Oshiama no Sato», una montaña que se hundió en el mar tras un gran terremoto en la antigüedad, y es venerada como una isla sagrada. Hoy en día, está designada como santuario de aves silvestres y sirve como lugar de cría para la «pardela mayor», que es el ave oficial de la prefectura de Kioto y un Monumento Natural designado. Por lo general, está prohibido desembarcar en la isla. En cuanto al estilo de buceo, una vez que el barco zarpa, pasarás todo el día a bordo hasta regresar al puerto. Dado que la isla Kanmuri es la única isla deshabitada ubicada en alta mar dentro de la bahía de Wakasa —que se extiende aproximadamente 100 km de este a oeste—, se caracteriza por la abundancia de bancos de peces.
