MTG's Demons & The Abyss | Lore Explained

*Magic: The Gathering* has a dark Plane most don't know about, it's called **the Abyss**. But where do MTG's demons really come from, and would you ever dare make a deal with one? In this deep dive into Magic: The Gathering lore**, we're exploring the mysterious Abyss, the ancient war between Angels and Demons, and the terrifying creatures that haunt the Multiverse. From Lord of the Pit and the earliest days of Magic to Liliana Vess's four demonic masters, Ob Nixilis, Rakdos, Griselbrand, and Valgavoth, we'll uncover how demons are created, what they want, and the terrible prices they demand. Not every demon comes from the Abyss. Some are born from black mana. Others are corrupted spirits, transformed mortals, creations of dark machinery, or beings shaped by blood and sacrifice. We'll travel through Innistrad, Kamigawa, Kaldheim, Phyrexia, Ravnica, Zendikar, New Capenna, Duskmourn, Alara, Amonkhet, Theros, and Tarkir to discover how each world creates its own horrors. Along the way, we'll explore Liliana's demonic contracts, Davriel's clever bargains, the mystery of the Abyss, and one final question: *Would YOU make a deal with a demon?* Welcome to **Labman's Lore**, where we connect you to your cards through story.
