Planted in the middle of the country, in the middle of a suburban neighborhood. My zone 6A Midwest garden on a quarter acre, new construction lot, located in Southeast Nebraska, with heavy clay soil. Follow my process as I make a 6-8 foot flower bed around the perimeter of my backyard. I'm using the cardboard method to create flower beds and suppress the existing grass. I'm hand cutting the sod to edge and define the garden beds. I garden in all the extreme weather conditions throughout the season, summer temps over 100 and winter down to negative 5, wind, hail, thunderstorms and drought. These challenges make the successes even more exciting.
