The Best Is Yet to Come
*Verse 1*
I came with a suitcase and stories I carried,
Some I could tell, some buried down deep.
Different roads, but familiar scars,
Strangers together with guarded hearts.
Under that Yellowstone wide-open sky,
Something inside me started coming alive.
I didn’t know then what these days would become,
Or how much of me I would find before they were done.
*Pre-Chorus*
Sometimes healing doesn’t whisper,
Sometimes it asks you to stay.
To stand in the fear you’ve been running from
And learn you’re still safe anyway.
*Chorus*
Somewhere between the mountains and the river,
Between letting go and holding on,
I found pieces of the girl I remembered,
And met the woman I’m becoming.
We walked different roads, but carried similar scars,
And found each other underneath those stars.
I learned my story isn’t over,
I’m still here, I’m still becoming.
The best is yet to come.
*Verse 2*
Flying through the trees on a zip line high,
Wind on my face, fire in my eyes.
For a moment I was young again,
Free and fearless like I was back then.
Watching those young souls living wide awake,
Reminded me there’s still adventure left to chase.
I laughed like life had opened a door
To a part of me I thought I’d lost before.
*Verse 3*
Then came a horse and a lesson in trust,
Nothing to control, just breathe and adjust.
My body said danger, my heart said stay,
Be right here, you are safe today.
Most of us struggled, but nobody quit,
We found our courage right there in the midst.
Sometimes being brave isn’t losing the fear,
It’s taking one breath and staying right here.
*Chorus*
Somewhere between the mountains and the river,
Between letting go and holding on,
I found pieces of the girl I remembered,
And met the woman I’m becoming.
We walked different roads, but carried similar scars,
And found each other underneath those stars.
I learned my story isn’t over,
I’m still here, I’m still becoming.
The best is yet to come.
*Bridge*
At first there was silence, eyes looking down,
Then stories and laughter started coming around.
Big smiles appeared where the walls had been,
And strangers somehow became more than friends.
“What’s your win?” at the end of the day,
“Helping is healing,” I still hear them say.
Maybe that’s why we were all brought there,
To remind one another we don’t have to carry it alone.
I faced what happened.
I faced what hurt.
I faced the parts I had buried first.
Relief came softly, then sadness like rain,
And somewhere beyond it came peace again.
*Final Chorus*
Somewhere between the mountains and the river,
I remembered what it means to feel alive.
I saw courage in every face around me,
Saw wounded hearts still choosing to rise.
We walked different roads, but carried similar scars,
And found some healing underneath those stars.
Now I know asking for help is courage,
And none of us were meant to walk alone.
I came carrying pain and apprehension,
I left believing in who I could become.
There’s purpose waiting on the other side of fear,
And I’m gonna keep showing up while I’m here.
My story isn’t over,
No, it’s only just begun.
The best...
The best is yet to come.
*Outro*
Wide as the Yellowstone sky,
Strong as the river runs,
I found myself again out there...
And the best is yet to come.
