X4 Foundations: Let's Talk, Laser Tower Defense

OKay okay, many of you have mentioned using laser towers for gate defense against Xenon. Well how about this? This is a way you can defend a gate, Mk II and Mk I's are used to great effect against single targets.... Many being thrown out dead on arrival to the system. The bigger questions remain: How will these towers affect a K or even an I? How many swarms can be stopped or even slowed? Can this defense hold a more crowded gate like Hat's gate? This is all taking place in the Fires of Defeat series. SO as that series progresses we will get our answers to these questions and more. How o you think they will do? What would you have done differently?
