Isaiah 13 to 17 (Oracles to Babylon, Moab, and Damascus)

Babylon was not an important political power when Isaiah was preaching to the kings and people of Judah. Yet he devotes a good deal of time to describing the fall of Babylon. What Isaiah has to say about Babylon becomes essential background information in understanding the ebb and flow of God's hand in human history and God's ultimate plan for bringing judgment and an end to all the wicked empires of the world.
