Part 1 features the Frances Barkley being moved from it dry berth to cradle in real time, while Part 2 picks up with the Uchuck III being lowered into the water—thanks to the skilled hands of some seriously talented equipment operators. What began as a simple plan turned into an unexpected two-part story, filmed two years apart, bringing together two of Vancouver Island’s hardworking heritage vessels for one beautifully slow and oddly satisfying maritime moment.
