Coriolis Forces - Brain Waves

The Coriolis effect happens when objects move on a rotating body, like air moving on the surface of the rotating Earth. It explains why hurricane spin counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and why guns shooting projectiles north or south sometimes require a correction to hit their targets. The effect is described mathematically as the result of a vector cross product, but we can understand the basic idea with just some simple diagrams.
