Sheeros Memes comes from a family with roots in Zimbabwe and South Africa, and the musical traditions, languages, rhythms, and sounds of both countries have influenced his creative interests. Throughout The Clear Greens era, these influences can be heard through gospel-inspired compositions, multilingual song titles, and productions influenced by classic Southern African sounds. With Tribute to the Pioneers — Part I, those influences move to the forefront. The project is both a musical tribute and a personal acknowledgement of the sounds connected to the regions and musical traditions that helped shape Sheeros Memes' own interests as a composer and producer. The recording looks toward the pioneers of bubblegum and kwaito while carrying those influences into a new generation through original productions.
