Barrington Plantation Beasts of Burden Program

Volunteers from the Texas Draft Horse and Mule Association brought their Percheron and Suffolk Punch draft horses to the Barrington Plantation State Historic Site near Navasota, Texas, for the Beasts of Burden special program where they demonstrated field work with the horses and the plantation's own milking short horn oxen. Here is a little raw footage from today. Tomorrow the plowed fields will be harrowed and prepared for cotton and corn planting. #drafthorses #oxen #barringtonplantation
