This video for medical students is focused on the pathophysiology of the lysosomal storage diseases such as Gaucher disease, Tay-Sachs disease, metachromatic adrenoleukodystrophy and Krabbe disease. Metabolic pathways and the enzyme deficiencies that cause these diseases will be discussed. There is also a brief review of autophagy.
