Video by Elisha Burrows For centuries, the clay in the Sanbao Valley has been a source for the studios of Jingdezhen, long the world’s centre for the production of porcelain objects. When Tom Burrows began making his glazed porcelain works in 2010, he worked in family-run atelier there, located in a neighbourhood that specializes in flat panels. These ateliers continue to use many traditional methods of ceramic production, including ways of transporting items.
