Saints, Preparing to Meet the King – After Serious Preparation - The Result - When we prepare through PRAYER, focusing on who God is, faith grows—and God opens doors no one else can. We saw that in Nehemiah’s story when he made a request to God. ESTHER’S preparation to meet the king is a POWERFUL picture of how believers can prepare to meet God — both PHYSICALLY and SPIRITUALLY. In preparing to meet the King - Esther was accepted by the king because she “LISTENED” to WISE “COUNSEL”, she “TRUSTED GOD”, and she was “OBEDIENT” after being reminded that “Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this” - (Esther 4:14 MSG). So, the question becomes, “when you approach your King, will you be clothed in Christ’s righteousness?” Esther learned to [L.T.O.] “LISTEN”, “TRUST”, “OBEY”. One without the others is NO GOOD! HOW ESTHER PREPARED TO MEET-GOD Esther 2:7 NKJV And Mordecai had brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman was lovely and beautiful. When her father and mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter. 1. Time and Process Before any woman could go before the king, she had to complete a full twelve month regimen of beauty treatments (Esther 2:12). 2. Accepting God’s Refinement ESTHER did not resist the prescribed treatments; she submitted to the process (Esther 2:15). 3. Cultivating Inner Beauty While cosmetics were provided, ESTHER’S true appeal came from her character — gentle, faithful, and God fearing (1 Peter 3:3–4; Proverbs 31:30). 4. Seeking God Given Counsel ESTHER asked for nothing except what Hegai, the king’s eunuch, suggested (Esther 2:15). This shows the importance of listening to wise, godly guidance, which positions us for favor and aligns us with God’s will. 5. Trusting God with the Outcome Once ESTHER entered the king’s presence, the RESULT was in His hands (Esther 2:14). She approached with faith and calmness, trusting God’s timing and provision (Psalm 37:5). 6. Waiting for God’s Invitation Only the king’s personal call could bring her back; she could not self initiate (Esther 2:14). BE PREPARED FOR YOUR MEETING WITH GOD - THE KING • Set aside purposeful seasons (Eccl. 3:3) for prayer, Scripture, and holiness. • Embrace God’s refining process without shortcuts. • Pursue inner Christlike character over mere external appearance. • Seek and follow trustworthy, godly counsel. • TRUST God with the outcome, knowing He will bring about what is good. CONCLUSION ESTHER’S PREPARATION teaches that meeting God is not about self promotion or quick fixes, but about patience, submission, inner transformation, and faith — all under God’s DIRECTION.
