Perfecting Protein Purification and Tackling Transfection

Ever wondered how scientists produce proteins for vaccines? Where do the proteins come from, and how do they make sure the vaccines are pure? In this video, I walk you through the steps that go into this process. You'll get to see how they transfect DNA constructs from E. coli into Chinese Hamster Ovarian (CHO) cells, and how they then purify that cell supernatant into pure vaccine proteins, using an advanced AKTA machine.
