Battling 4-Meter Waves | KNRM Nh1816 During Storm Boelo – Bft. 8

🇬🇧 English Training in extreme conditions! 🌊 During Storm Boelo, the crew of KNRM IJmuiden took rescue vessel Nh1816 out into the North Sea for a training exercise off the coast of IJmuiden, the Netherlands. With a force 8 westerly wind (Beaufort) and waves reaching 4 metres, the crew and vessel were put to the test in challenging sea conditions. Training in rough weather is essential to ensure our volunteer lifeboat crews are prepared to respond when every second counts. Because saving lives at sea doesn’t stop when the weather gets rough. 🇳🇱 Nederlands Trainen onder extreme omstandigheden! 🌊 Tijdens storm Boelo ging de bemanning van KNRM IJmuiden met reddingboot Nh1816 de Noordzee op voor een oefening voor de kust van IJmuiden. Met een westenwind van 8 Beaufort en golven tot 4 meter hoog werden zowel de bemanning als de reddingboot flink op de proef gesteld. Oefenen onder zware weersomstandigheden is essentieel om ervoor te zorgen dat onze vrijwillige redders voorbereid zijn wanneer iedere seconde telt.
