From My Window - Gene Marcell (1962 Doo-Wop) - Teen Dream Harmony

“From My Window” by Gene Marcell is an original 1962-style doo-wop song inspired by a true life story that took place sometime around 1984-85. A real memory from another time, reimagined through the romantic sound of the early ’60s. Gene Marcell is a fictional artist created by Teen Dream Harmony and was not a real recording artist in 1962. Lyrics: From my window every day I'd watch you laugh and play In your little white skirt, chasing that old ball You never knew I was there at all I'd whisper softly to the breeze "Maybe she'll smile at me..." But you just ran beneath the summer sky While I fell in love... passing by From my window... I'd dream of you Every little thing you'd do If you ever looked my way I'd have nothing more to say Ooh... my heart belonged to you Though you never knew From my window... I loved you so Long... long ago. Now the leaves turn gold, and seasons fade away But those memories of you still bright in shades of gray I trace the lines of time, where we used to run In the soft embrace of light, where our wild hearts had spun From my window... the years have flown Every little dream I’ve known If you ever took a glance I’d have given you a chance Ooh... my heart still beats for you.
