EP 40: Devil Inside the House: The Zenaida Sison Case | Philippines’ Most Shocking Stories

Hosted by reporter MJ Felipe, this episode tells the story of Zenaida Sison, the mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache, who was found dead inside her Quezon City home on September 19, 2014. When Picache could no longer reach her mother by phone, she went to check on her and discovered that the house had been broken into. Investigators believed robbery was the motive, with cash and jewelry missing from the home. The investigation led to Michael Flores, a former house helper who was arrested in Laguna weeks after the killing. Flores confessed to the crime and pleaded guilty to robbery with homicide. In December 2015, a Quezon City court convicted him and sentenced him to up to 40 years in prison. In 2019, five years after her mother’s death, the actress came face-to-face with Flores as she tried to find peace and come to terms with the loss. “Philippines’ Most Shocking Stories” is a YouTube series from ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs that looks back into real-life events that stunned the nation — stories that made headlines, triggered investigations and sparked public outcry.
