India is preparing to roll out its first indigenously designed and manufactured Bullet Train for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor. Currently being manufactured at BEML's Bengaluru facility, the train is designed to achieve a maximum test speed of 280 kmph and an operational speed of 249 kmph. The 202-metre-long train will feature eight coaches and accommodate 557 passengers, including dedicated seats for persons with reduced mobility. It will offer spacious seating, Wi-Fi-based infotainment, LED lighting, wide windows, modern toilets and multilingual passenger information displays. Accessibility features include level boarding, retractable footsteps and Braille signage. Powered by a 25 kV AC overhead system, the train will also use regenerative braking and advanced aerodynamic technology to improve energy efficiency and reduce noise. #bullettrain #indiabullettrain #indianrailways #mumbaiAhmedabadbullettrain #highspeedrail #beml #makeinindia #bullettrainindia #infrastructure #railwaynews ———————————————————————————————————————— TOI Bharat – Your Window to India And Its Neighbourhood TOI Bharat delivers the latest news, biggest voices, sharpest views and in-depth coverage of India’s political, social and economic landscape.
