Santa Cruz Island Galápagos | Charles Darwin Research Centre

The Galápagos Islands are a dream destination for so many people. Join us in this series as we showcase some of the must things to do if you are lucky enough to be able to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our first stop when we arrived on Santa Cruz Island was to the famous Charles Darwin Research Station, where we learned about the amazing wildlife and natural history of the Galapagos Islands, and seen how scientists and conservationists are working to protect and restore them. We also got a chance to see the tortoise breeding center, where they care for and breed the endangered giant tortoises. We're Lee and Leah. We spent much of the last year and a half travelling around Ireland due to Covid restrictions but, in August 2021, we packed our bags and got on a one way flight to South America, which we spent the next four months travelling around.
