Turbo Horizon Tapes Vol. 27 | 25 min Outrun & Synth-Pop Oscilloscope Mixtape

Turbo Horizon Tapes Vol. 27 - 25 minutes of outrun & synth-pop where every sound is a picture. Every glowing line in this video is a sound. Each instrument has its own beam, and the beam's X/Y deflection is that instrument's own stereo signal: the bass is the landscape, the chords are the sky, the lead melody is the hero moving with its pitch, the drums are rings and sparks. Nothing here is a sample, a preset or a loop: melodies, harmony, sound design and the vector art are all generated from scratch for this video. Tracklist 0:00 01. Ibiza Boulevard (Outrun, 111 BPM, C# aeolian) 4:01 02. Cosmic Kiss (Synth-Pop, 122 BPM, F# ionian) 7:56 03. Candy Boulevard (Dreamwave, 96 BPM, A mixolydian) 12:15 04. Drive of Miami (Outrun, 105 BPM, E aeolian) 16:30 05. Golden Riviera (Outrun, 115 BPM, A aeolian) 20:56 06. Midnight Riviera (Italo Disco, 126 BPM, D aeolian) How it works: a shape is stored as its Fourier series, so the same numbers are its harmonics and its outline. A filter sweep is the figure sharpening and melting, resonance is ripples running round it, a chord in just intonation is figures that stand perfectly still together. Headphones recommended. 4K. #synthwave #oscilloscopemusic #outrun
