Hampton Men's Basketball Highlights | Hampton 80, Howard 79 (2/1/25) "Battle of the Real HU"

The Pirates came back in overtime to win an all-time classic in the latest chapter in the Battle of the Real HU, winning 80-79 by way of Wayne Bristol's 4-point play with 8 seconds left in the game. George Beale Jr. scored a career-high 28 points off the bench, and tied his career-high with five makes from behind the arc. In overtime, Hampton battled back after falling behind early in the period. After Howard missed a free throw in the closing seconds that could have pushed their lead to four, Wayne Bristol pulled up from the top of the arc, banking in the game-tying three while being fouled. His free throw sealed the game and third-straight victory against the Bison. The win was only the second game in the series during the last 25 years to go to overtime, and the one-point victory was the closest result since 2016, when Hampton beat Howard 68-67.
