The route follows Invalidenstraße, one of the major east-west streets through central Berlin, connecting several very different parts of the city. The walk begins quietly around Zionskirchplatz and Veteranenstraße before continuing past Nordbahnhof. From Museum Mile Mitte onwards, the streets become noticeably busier, with more people heading through the area towards Berlin Central Station. Along the way, the walk offers a mix of everyday Berlin street life, historic buildings, modern architecture and the changing atmosphere of a normal weekday afternoon in the city.
