All aboard! The moon is racing the train, and Puff can't beat it. Maple the conductor punches Wobble's ticket for every why they find on the trip.
Why do trains need rails? Why do they go clickety-clack? Why do near trees zoom while far hills crawl? And why does the moon seem to follow us?

A 5-minute science adventure for curious kids aged 3–7, with a grown-up to explore alongside.
Next time: a space road trip!
Science check (for parents):
The ties under the track spread out a train's weight. A flange on each wheel stops it sliding off the rail, and steel on steel rolls with very little friction.
Older track has small gaps between rails so the steel can expand in hot weather. Wheels crossing them make the clickety-clack. Many newer tracks are welded, which is quieter.
As you move, near things seem to pass quickly and far things slowly. This is motion parallax, one of the clues your brain uses to judge distance.
The Moon is so far away (NASA: 30 Earth-sized planets could fit in between) that its direction barely changes as you travel, so it seems to follow you.
