Missa Pro Homine Communi (Mass for the common man) | Innocent Okechukwu

Missa Pro Homine Communi [13'] (Mass for the Common Man) This Mass belongs to the people at the back of the church: the farmer with soil still under his nails, the market woman who counts her change twice, the night-shift worker singing half a beat behind everyone else. Their prayers are rarely eloquent. They are repeated, murmured, carried in the body. The Kyrie begins almost under the breath, the plea of people too tired to shout. At the Christe the women sing alone, and the men arrive late on "eleison," like voices finding their way in from the back pews. Then the Gloria dances. The women call out "Laudamus te," the men answer "Benedicimus te," and the whole room is on its feet. The Credo is a long walk through belief. At "Et incarnatus" it drops to a whisper and a new key, and under "Crucifixus" the bass line sinks step by step. At "sepultus est" it goes still, barely audible, until "Et resurrexit" breaks through at full voice. Even at the judgment the music catches its breath, falling suddenly quiet on "vivos et mortuos": the living and the dead. The Sanctus rings in one voice at a time, basses first, like village bells answering each other across a valley. The Benedictus is a single line floating over a hummed chord, a lullaby for the one who comes. In the Agnus Dei the basses hold a long, open "Ah" beneath the pleading of the upper voices. When the choir at last asks for peace, it comes home to the chord the Kyrie began in. It is the same humble sound, now at rest. piano piece, innocent okechukwu, music, music score, musical echoes, music and emotion, sacred music, relaxing music, something in the way, sleep music, gaming music, musicmakers, gaa, gaelige, band, ode, willy wonka, galway, kilkenny, donegal, derry, buncrana, colaiste lurgan,conemarra,gaeltacht,tg4,cleas act, smart boys, talented, sean nos, riverdance, fiddle, accordian, new york, battery park, michael d higgins, conradh na gaelige,kbskbs2한국방송케이비에스음악musick-popkpop뮤직뱅크뮤뱅musicbankkbspop
