Mohammad Rafi – The Infinite Genius July 31, 1980 was one of the darkest days in the annals of the music world. 40 years ago, the world lost one of the finest exponents of music. And, more importantly, one of the finest human beings that adorned the Film Music World. The world lost forever a divine voice, human being par excellence and a genuinely humble person. Mohammad Rafi had left the mortal world far too soon ! With Rafi’s talent, the music directors could unleash their entire creativity, because here was a singer who could do justice to any type of composition …. Romantic, pathos, classical, ghazals, divine, comedy, frivolous, rhythmic, नटकट …. the genres are endless. Nobody could even remotely match the range of genres nor the range of his voice ! And, Rafi had the uncanny ability to “ suit ” his voice to the hero emoting his songs. As a tribute to this great and divine musician human being, I rendered this powerful and soulful composition by Ravi Sharma and written by Shakeel Badayuni.
