【楯ヶ崎】 真っ青な熊野灘から突き出る、迫力の楯ヶ崎をご紹介します。 Tategasaki, the massive volcanic rock formations, towers above the blue ocean and is located in Yoshino-Kumano national park. ー楯ヶ崎ー 高さ80mを越える無数の岩の柱が真っ青な熊野灘に「楯」のようにそそり立つ景観は、まさに大迫力の地球の芸術。楯ヶ崎一帯は吉野熊野国立公園の特別保護地区に指定されています。 断崖絶壁をつくる岩の柱（柱状節理）は、約1400万年前に多量のマグマが引き起こした大規模な火山活動によるもの。その迫力には陸からも海からも迫ることができ、特に小さな渡船から見上げる圧巻の造形美が人気です。 歴史の上では神武天皇の上陸地として記されており、歴史と大地のロマンに出逢えます。 今回は影像でしか見られない「空から」の眺めをお届けします。眼下に広がる海の青さにも是非ご注目ください。 ーTategasakiー "Tategasaki" is the gigantic art of volcanic rock formations with its name "the cape of shield". Countless towering rocks of over 80m hight, which were created by molten magma of a large volcanic activity over 14 million years ago, form a huge "shield" rising from the deep blue ocean. It is written on the first history book of Japan and is said that the place is where the first emperor Jimmu (神武) landed on the way to Yamato (大和) the place where he ended his travel. Shintoism hitory and geographical features make the site worth to visit. The site is accessible through a trail and also by sailing tour on a small boat from which the travelers look up this breathtaking art of nature.
