Biking Home from Work - Oct 29 2026 5:13pm

Lots of bad drivers on the way home today, and there were cops there to see it too. The first was at Simcoe and Front where a driver made a left against the walk signal, with pedestrians in the crosswalk and the cop sitting a couple of cars behind me did absolutely nothing. I guess he didn't see it, but if that driver had hit someone, then what? The next one was at Dovercourt and Bloor, again, left-turning drivers deciding that red doesn't apply to them because they were already waiting. To be fair to the cop who was just one car behind, there were violators in both directions, so how could he possibly go after either of them, right? Otherwise, lots of other cyclists, lots of interest in my insta360 camera, and overall, traffic was not as heavy as it was last week. Impossible to know why. traffic just ins't a natural phenomenon that we can easily predict and plan for, it changes all the time due to all kinds of factors, so it's impossible to "solve traffic" by doing one stupid thing like removing bike lanes for example.
