Tour of Epynt Rally Crashes, Highlights & Pure Sound, 25 - 26/7/26

A return to Epynt this time nursing a failing flywheel of my own and despite weeks of heatwave, it was almost a guarantee to find rain up here! Some fantastic driving nevertheless and featuring a return of some of the lesser featured roads in recent memory was a welcome change. Makes you wonder what the route would have looked like without the last minute reworking due to resurfacing work. Jason Pritchard and Phil Clarke would win this one with about half a minutes worth of an advantage to 2nd placed Callum Black and Jack Morton. 3rd place and perhaps the drive of the weekend was the V6 powered Ford Escort G3 of Lee Edwards and Sam Spencer! Beating all but two of the modern 4WD machines and taking the class victory by about 3 minutes from the nearest rival It was nice to see the Huw James and Lewis Sim Fiat 131 out there albeit mechanical issues sidelined a good result for them in the afternoon on day 1, along with narrowly avoiding sheep (a problem I had about 6 times across the weekend), and the Lennox pairing provided plenty of entertainment on the day. The spectacular Astra crew of Joel John and Richard Burton sadly didn't finish after finding a ditch on the new tarmac too.
