ODT Day 40: Owyhee Canyonlands VI - Pillars of Rome (Oregon Desert Trail Thru Hike 2022 Vlog)

Day 40 thru hiking the Oregon Desert Trail. After a zero day in Rome, Donny and I head out for the last section of the ODT. A small Cessna plane lands on the road we're walking out of town as we hike through a ranch. We cross a bridge over the Owyhee River near the Pillars of Rome, and head up to the plateau above the Owyhee River. It's cow country here. Donny and I stand shoulder to shoulder with cows as we draw water from a barely trickling trough. Then we hike to the edge of the rim and enter the Lower Owyhee Canyon Wilderness Study Area, near Lambert Rocks. We make camp near Bogus Creek.
