HIS WIFE DIED AT THE END OF HIS 40-DAY FAST | Dag Heward-Mills

He opens with a strange old word, twaddle, meaning silly talk, and says that is exactly how parts of the Bible can sound until you understand them. He points to the Yad Vashem museum in Jerusalem, where he says the curses of Deuteronomy 28 play out in real history, and to Jesus warning the women of Jerusalem before his death. Then comes the gut punch: a pastor finished a 40 day fast and got a phone call that his wife had just died in an accident. He looked up and asked, 'What kind of God are you?' From there Dag Heward-Mills explains why Jesus had to suffer, why God made Lucifer and gave Adam a choice, and why Paul carried his thorn without an answer. Understanding will not remove the pain, but it keeps you standing when it comes.
