Stumbled across a few more 999 episodes. Thanks to the kind permission of @pcbhaddicted for the original uploads and allowing me to edit and upload them. Novice diver Tricia Worsley was diving in Stoney Cove, near Leicester, when her demand valve stopped working and she couldn't get any air. In her panic, she surfaced too quickly and burst a lung, as well as becoming temporarily blind and paralysed. Fortunately, Stoney Cove has a decompression chamber where she spent the next 39 hours slowly returning to life. "Very few people have a brush like that with death," she says, "and I was very lucky I did survive it." This watery nightmare is one of two alarming reconstructions in tonight's 999: Dean Milroy was trapped for three hours under an articulated lorry. And there's rescue of a different sort for the Penlee lifeboat team in Cornwall, called to the assistance of a whale trapped in a rocky inlet. Disclaimer: the following episode is as broadcast when repeated on the digital TV channel UKTV People (later Blighty) and I cannot be held responsible for any edits that have been made to the original broadcast.
