a visual essay: a last little window into summer. saying goodbye slowly, and turning our attention towards what is so easily overlooked. the art in the ordinary, the little details, never asking to be noticed, yet making up so much of what is beautiful. the sky and the sea mirroring one another, here finally merging uninterrupted, for they have always belonged together. sunlight sparking across its vastness. greens and blues stretching into each other. the smell of salt and slow passing time, stirring the air. the noise grows distant. the longer you look, the quieter everything becomes. like pebbles settling into the shore, everything small, becoming part of something so much bigger. oh, I do love summer. here she sheds her last layer, a light and soft one, with which she has held us dearly. perhaps a season ending is a quiet demand to look a little closer before you go; to notice the beauty in the usual. to be still and feel the sea and the wind beat out a rhythm upon the slow earth.
