This Gesamtkunstwerk moves on the border between magical realism, mythology and science fiction, contains a good dose of esotericism, but also touches on contemporary themes such as gender fluidity, migration and ideological manipulation. Wat ik nastreef in mijn oeuvre is dat ik meer het hart dan het hoofd van de kijker en de lezer probeer aan te spreken. (...) Ons hart kan alleen maar voelen en niet zien. Maar het verstand, ons denken tracht niet aflatend zijn wil op te leggen aan ons gemoed.- Mellius The Womb is een fysieke plek in een loods in Amsterdam Noord en maakt onderdeel uit van een groter geheel: Iedere fotocollage, schilderij of sculptuur die uit zijn vingers komt, wordt onderdeel van een groot bouwwerk. Dit Gesamtkunstwerk beweegt zich op de grens tussen magisch realisme, mythologie en sciencefiction, bevat een flinke dosis esoterie maar raakt ook aan hedendaagse thema’s als genderfluïditeit, migratie en ideologische manipulatie. De boeken vallen onder het genre magisch realisme.
