At 13 weeks old, Dobermans are full of energy and curiosity, going through rapid growth spurts, developing stronger personalities, and sharpening their intelligence. This is a crucial stage for training, bonding, and setting the foundation for a well-rounded dog. In this video, we’ll be posting MiLo’s ears. For those who don’t know, ear cropping is a surgical procedure where part of the ear is removed, and posting is the process of supporting the ears with tape or posts so they heal standing upright. This has been a tradition in Dobermans for decades, but it’s also one of the most debated topics in the dog community. Here are some pros and cons often discussed: ✅ Pros of Ear Cropping & Posting: Traditional Doberman look that many owners and breeders prefer. Can reduce the risk of ear infections in some dogs (because of better airflow in upright ears). Historically done for working and protection dogs to prevent ear injuries in the field. Some believe it gives Dobermans a more alert and confident appearance. ❌ Cons of Ear Cropping & Posting: It’s a surgical procedure, which means pain, anesthesia risks, and healing time. Considered cosmetic by many—does not improve the dog’s health or ability to function. Posting requires patience, time, and consistency to heal correctly. Some people feel it’s unnecessary and prefer the natural floppy-ear look. As you can see, there are strong opinions on both sides. We want to hear your thoughts—do you think Doberman ears should be cropped and posted, or left natural? Also, if you have a pet, let us know what kind and their name in the comments—we’d love to hear about them! Right now, we’re continuing to work on MiLo’s commands, building discipline and confidence. MiLo is officially registered as an emotional support animal, and in the future, he’ll begin more training to become a service animal and eventually move into protection work. Thank you for watching, and we’ll see you in the next video! #Doberman #DobermanPinscher #PuppyLife #DobermanPuppy #DogTraining #DogLovers #EarPosting #EarCropping #DobermanNation #LaMarKX #EmotionalSupportAnimal #ServiceDogTraining #ProtectionDog #DobermanGang #DogsOfYouTube #DogCommunity #PuppyJourney #PetTraining #PuppyLove #DobermanLife #DobermanWorld #DogObedience #DogVlog #DobermanCommunity #DogCareTips #DobermanTraining #DobermanPinschersOfInstagram #DogParents #DogLifestyle #K9Training #DogJourney
