Scale Trains Southern Pacific SD40T-2 "Snoot Nose" 8318. Project Model? What are the Possible Plans?

I purchased Scale Trains Southern Pacific SD40T-2 "Snoot Nose" 8318 as a potential project. The model ships with faded paint and distressed lettering. The model also has the 80's era roof beacon conversion. I may attempt to re-letter the locomotive or possibly change the model to a unique Cotton Belt model.
