I’m reclaiming an abandoned allotment and slowly turning this neglected plot back into a productive garden. This time I’m clearing more of the overgrown allotment, felling a tree, making a mountain of woodchip, digging and levelling a growing bed, repairing fencing and laying weed membrane. Things don’t go entirely to plan either, and one particularly vicious thorn leaves me with an unexpected trip to the walk-in centre. This is part of my ongoing allotment restoration project in the North East of England. The aim is to bring the plot back to life, grow our own food and create somewhere my family can enjoy for years to come. There’s still a huge amount to do, but every job gets this abandoned allotment a little closer to where I want it. If you enjoy allotment transformations, clearing overgrown gardens, growing your own food and watching someone learn as they go, subscribe to Gaining Ground and follow the restoration. #Allotment #AllotmentRestoration #GardeningUK CHAPTERS 00:00 Intro 00:23 Woodchip Transport Service 02:19 Boken Fence Update 03:05 Digging Over Bed 2 03:46 Strawb City 04:01 Temu Tree Surgery 06:29 Levelling Bed 1 07:07 Weed Membrane Bed 1 08:23 Wood Chipping Marathon 10:41 Injury Update 10:52 Outro
