Friday Fluff N’ Stuff & Amazing Milestones Hello eagle family! What a week it has been for us nest watchers. We have witnessed so many achievements and milestones. Shadow was hard at work this morning with deliveries. He showed up, front and center and loud and clear with the first fish for Friday. The family line up in the nest was a delight as they all celebrated his fishing adventure. Jackie moved some sticks around to perhaps set the table for break-fish. Shadow followed up with several sticks and a few bales of fluff in his talons. It was fun to see what the family thought of that huge pouf of fluffy stuff! We know Sandy & Luna were happy with it as they chose a silly sibling game of tug ‘o fluff! After their busy morning, the eaglets settled in for some extended naptime, their soft feathers catching the breeze. Watching Sandy & Luna tracking all of these deliveries is certainly a wonder to watch. They continue to show a keen awareness of their surroundings in and outside of the nest helping to imprint their natal surroundings. They are also steady on their feet as exhibited by their frequent hops and stomps. As the afternoon carried on, Sandy & Luna kept busy showing off more amazing eagle skills. Jackie & Shadow knew how hard their kids were working, so they brought in more restoration materials to cozy up the nest. Shadow even adorably placed one of his newfound sticks right next to the kids. At one point when Jackie delivered more fluff, Sandy seemingly tried to nibble at it, but caught Mom's toe instead! Later on, Jackie delivered a fish which Luna claimed. I think we can all agree that eaglet development is thrilling to witness. As we continue our observations into their eagle world, we are also learning some excellent human lessons: to live in the present, find opportunities to grow and learn, and to fly high and be courageous!
