Later that evening, I stepped outside to get something to eat and walked through the streets of Roppongi. Neon lights trembled across the wet pavement. People hurried past beneath their umbrellas. There were no festival chants, no drums and no mikoshi—only a quiet rainy night. Nothing important happens in this video. There are no surprises or dramatic moments. It is simply a man who could not attend the festival, walking alone through Roppongi in the rain. But sometimes, even a night when nothing happens has a face that will never appear again.
