Why UL Listed Matters in an EV Charger

Too many EV chargers sold on Amazon are not UL listed. This means it did not go through the rigorous process of EV charger testing and could potentially malfunction in the worst possible way. UL testing ensures the EV charger will perform and even if it fails, that it fails gracefully. The lists of test they do in UL2594 is lengthly and just the name of the tests alone goes on for 3 pages. Personally, I would not risk plugging in a random charger that is not UL listed because the savings from buying a cheaper charger just isn't worth the possibility of damaging your car in a poorly designed EV charger.
