Everyone knows that India won the 1983 World Cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. But how many people know which bowler took the most wickets for India in that tournament. This was the bowler who took the most wickets not only for India but also for the entire tournament, i.e. 18. Not only this, he also bowled the most number of overs, i.e. 88, in the entire tournament. The name of that all-rounder cricketer of India is Roger Binny. Yes, you are seeing him these days as the President of BCCI i.e. Board of Control for Cricket in India. This is the same Roger Binny who put West Indies on the backfoot by taking the wicket of captain Clive Lloyd in the final of the 1983 World Cup.
In the final of the World Cup, Binny conceded only 23 runs in 10 overs at an economy of 2.30. After Mohinder Amarnath and Kapil Dev, Binny bowled the most economical in the final.
