EPISODE 2 | IN THE GREY *Betrayal, Church Hurt, Suicidal Thoughts & Finding God in the Grey* What happens when the places, relationships and people you trusted to be safe become part of the trauma you have to heal from? In Episode 2 of *In The Grey*, we go deeper. This conversation explores betrayal wounds — in relationships, within the church, and within the spaces we sometimes enter when we're desperately searching for healing, belonging and God. Here we share parts of our own story from one of the darkest periods of my life. There were moments when I could confidently say, *“I am not a suicidal woman,”* while also having to acknowledge that the amount of trauma, isolation, betrayal and spiritual confusion I was experiencing had brought me to thoughts I never imagined I would have. We talk openly about what can happen when trauma affects the nervous system, when discernment becomes difficult, and when spiritual vulnerability intersects with people or environments that may not be safe. We also talk about something that has become incredibly important to me: *People can fail you without God failing you.* Church hurt does not have to be the end of your relationship with Jesus. Betrayal does not have to become your identity. And healing doesn't always begin once the chaos is over. Sometimes we have to learn how to heal while difficult circumstances are still happening around us. In this episode, we explore: • betrayal trauma and the wounds it leaves behind • church hurt and spiritual exploitation • suicidal thoughts following prolonged trauma • nervous-system dysregulation and survival mode • discernment, faith and spiritual confusion • relationship betrayal • shame, isolation and identity • learning to separate God from the actions of people • healing while the situation isn't completely resolved • rebuilding faith, boundaries and trust after trauma In The Grey exists for conversations that don't fit neatly into black and white. The conversations people are often afraid to have. The experiences that challenge what we thought we knew about faith, relationships, trauma, healing and ourselves. Because sometimes transformation happens in the uncomfortable space between who you were and who you're becoming. *In The Grey is where truth, love, and power are refined — before they become legacy.* If something in this episode resonates with you, please *subscribe, comment and share* this conversation with someone who may need to hear it. And tell us in the comments: *Have you ever had to separate your experience with people from your relationship with God?* New episodes of In The Grey explore trauma, faith, relationships, mental health, healing, systems, accountability and the conversations we usually only have behind closed doors.
