I know you guys were probably expecting some sort of challenge since I didn’t do one last time this Special Stadium ran. But, considering so many of these stages promote On-Type and Sun, I’ve had to deal with Kalos Stadium’s annoying shenanigans, and that I may or may not have a showcase I’m prepping for later this week, I just decided to play not normally again. However, I’m going to be doing the same thing I did for last months Special Stadium rerun and I’m not allowing dupes of any damage dealing units I used last time (Here’s a link to my first run:    • Pasio Special Stadium 1, but All My DPS Is...   ). And yes, I only specified damage dealers so I could use Morty again 😅. But considering my Fire Roster is still very mid without units like SS Red or Leon, this might as well have been a challenge, especially since each of these stages has some kind of gimmick. Luckily, I got through this with general ease, though a few stages did get on my nerves a little bit. As half as I am to see these reruns, hopefully we get a new Special Stadium soon for some diversity. (Personally hoping for one with either Nate or Silver as Champion). Enjoy! Timestamps to battles, grids and lucky skills: —————————————————- 0:00 Let’s just rip the bandaid off… (Glacia) The stage I dreaded the most, and for pretty obvious reasons. This parameter doesn’t really help for this stage, but the others were so necessary for my team in all the following stages, that I just defied to start here. Since I used a lot of my strong Fire Types last time, I didn’t have many powerful Fire units to counter Glacia, which is problematic considering she’s by far the most difficult E4 stage in this rotation. Eventually I just decided to dual Strike with Ethan and Event Blue. I also decided to use SS Morty here since I figured he’d be more useful here than for Red. 3:11 How many of you forgot this unit existed? (Molayne) Surprisingly enough, I brought Lodge Calem not just because he was one of my only Fire options I didn’t use last time, but also because I figured it’d be nice to sue since I haven’t used him much since he debuted (for good reason, but I digress). Plus this stage promotes Burn, so he fits perfectly for the stages gimmick too. Unfortunately, Bede is still missing from my roster, so I have stick with Lucian as his main enabler. Holiday Jasmine fixed his mediocre damage and make up for the lack of Sun. 6:20 Crit Shield my despised. (Koga) Back when this Stadium first ran, Hilda was still very mid and not worth using compared to other semi-free Fire types. But now that she’s gotten her grid, she’s a valid contender for most of these stages. I chose to use her here since her nuke can pretty much delete the sides instantly. Unfortunately, I chose Sync Countdown parameters which definitely hurt more than it helped. Probably should’ve just taken the HP buffs, but at least Hilda was able to tank the sync. (Also yes, I did forget to change Hilda’s grid 🙃) 9:27 Now for the REAL Fennekin line unit! (Grimsley) OG Serena is definitely the least fun Serena unit to use imo, but its still fun to try and use her offensively when I can. And since I gave myself a limited list of units I can use On-Type, it felt appropriate to use her offensive mode here. I also had to choose between a nuke grid or dps grid, and I chose the latter since Overheat can hurt with all its multipliers. Gauge was slightly problematic, but luckily I was able to recover from it quickly. Also, idk what Blaine grid I used lol. Probably something for Azelf or Uxie if I had to guess. 12:45 UNOVA SWEEP! (and Flareon ig) (Red) Knew instantly that I was going to use SS Hilbert here. Additionally considering that I expected a paid scout including him when this Stadium came out, I felt like I was owed using Hilbert here (plus now I know Red can’t freeze in Sun, so I’m not forced to bring a Flare Blitz user lol). Probably could’ve had more fun and bring Gordie for -3 rebuff, but I just went for the safe route and brought a Sunny Day unit instead. NC Rosa provided Crit buffs, helped slow Red’s attacks down with Sing, and buffed Hilbert with Unova Flag Bearer. Kinda sucked that I was stuck in the Fighting from in moments where Sing would’ve been helpful, but it didn’t effect the battle too much thankfully. —————————————————-
